Reading the account of his life on wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Bronson_(prisoner) puts to rest any notion that the film is unreasonably sensationalized. It even leaves out his marital life, which many might think unlikely…

Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn tackles the enigma of Bronson in this schizoid biopic and he finds his perfect instrument in Tom Hardy who mugs and rages with mad glee, his shorn head and handlebar moustache making him look like an…

This guy had his own thoughts and they developed as he grew up and his mom never addressed his mental issues. He is one scary individual that lives in his own thoughts.
We found it interesting but not a great movie almost turned it of…

Imagine a composite character of the King of Comedy and Raging Bull and you have Tom Hardy's portrayal of long-time British prisoner "Charles Bronson." This movie is well worth watching though definitely not for the squeamish.

If you are expecting a linear, heart-pounding action film this may not be the movie for you. If however, you enjoy a chilling tale of one of Europe's most violent prisoners with a bit of artistic expression and exceptional acting, this is…

No sane person could believe that Charles Bronson, the UK's most violent prisoner, should be freed; not from this film loosely based on his life, and certainly not from any knowledge of his true story. But believe it or not, this movie…

Tom Hardy is a unique talent, and I was looking forward to this one. I was disappointed in the director's approach to the film, however. I would have preferred a more traditional biopic than whatever you want to categorize this as.
I loved this movie. Hardy's performace is thru the roof amazing. There are a few abstract scenes and plenty of violence which normally do not mix well together but i found this film was able to quite brilliantly do just that. Not for…

Choosing to be a brutal psycho. I am not sure there is any value in watching this film. I still don't see why anyone would choose this path, but maybe that is just a sign I am still somewhat sane. One observation. He would have been able…

This film by director Refn is well acted and directed, filled with violence. However, I do not find the main character, and hence the story around him, interesting at all. It is also not an easy watch for most.

A very good, very odd character study of a career criminal directed by Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, Only God Forgives). Hardy's performance is wild and wonderful. The film is a bizarre look into the life and mind of the main protagonist.…

Thought it woud be good DVD on the life in prison of Charlie Bronson. It wasn't treated seriously & didn't go into the history of Bronson as a lifetime prisoner & how he gained his reputation.

This is an interesting film that is loosely based on the true story of one of the world's most violent prisoners, Michael Peterson. Tom Hardy's performance is the best thing about this movie, and it is accompanied by some ferocious fight…
BRONSON declares,,, "I WAS BORN & WANTED TO BE FAMOUS",
Therefore, the film is a real life story about a man wanting to be "FAMOUS" by any means necessary, including spending 36 yrs in prison for holding up & robbing a post office for…

This movie is very unique. It is a rather odd story and is shot in segments with the main character's narration in between. The film is full of British colloquialism. There is tons of violence and you can't help feeling a loss for this…

A surreal and comedic attempt at explaining the life of Michael Peterson, aka, Charles Bronson. Violent pretty much for the sake of violence. The movie does little to explain Bronson's motives or his alter ego for that matter. Well, to…

Fair – Bronson (2008) 92 min. The harsh story of British inmate Michael Peterson is presented without holding back any of the violence and psychopathic behavior dished out by Peterson and his prison guards. The redeeming aspect of the film…
