I couldn't figure it out for myself. There was a lot of misdirection but an entertaining read.

not diffie just not as 'easypeasy' as lucas davenport (the prey series of novels). " ZEN IN THE ART OF ARCHERY. eugen herrigel. you must have been a hippie---all the hippies read that. it's mostly bullshit', may said. 'this japanese…

Lackluster. That's the best, and saddest word I can find to describe 'Bloody Genius'. All the John Sanford prerequisites are there - our favorite characters, a new interesting one, and seemingly unsolvable crime, but they did not add up…

4 stars. The twelfth book in Sandford's Virgil Flowers series was a very good read. Virgil gets called in when a controversial professor, involved in a feud with another department, turns up dead. Following the clues and leads takes…

It takes Virgil a bit to get to the bottom of this one. The edge of my seat was not being used like most Virgil Flowers stories. I made it to the end it was worth the wait. Still good.

As a long time fan of mystery/detective (serial) novels, I find the "F Flowers" novels rank pretty highly--- like Travis McGee... and as quirky as Hercule Poirot. John Camp is an excellent story teller... and knows how to add special…

As always, Virgil Flowers’ cases are a delectable read. Sanford’s assortment of seedy characters never disappoints. Count me as a fan.

Virgil Flowers always provides a tremendous amount of entertainment--for the other characters as well as for the reader. Another book I couldn't put down. What a joy to read authentic dialogue that is actually hilarious instead of the…

I need to "quote" 2 commenters from below. I LOVE Virgil Flowers books of all the John Sandford novels. And, I too like Virgil more when he is in a rural, out in the farms, ranches and small towns of Minnesota. This one took place at a…

Virgil Flowers' latest outing is another excellent story! Impressive character development of even the minor players make Sandford's book a great read. I really enjoyed this wonderful mystery.

I like all of John Sanford's books. But I especially like his Virgil Flowers' novels. BLOODY GENIUS is the 12th edition in the series and it's a humdinger. More false trails than usual and some genuinely unique characters make it a lot…

I like Flowers best in a more rural environment where his kookiness blends in better.

I always enjoy reading how Virgil Flowers's mind works as he follows a crime from clue to clue to clue, and Bloody Genius was no different. The humor in this series makes it lighter fare, which is always fun to read. Flowers is hilarious…

Perhaps my least favorite of Sanford's books, though an average Sanford is much better than most authors. I guess my biggest negative is all the red herrings in the book. But after fishing in the sea for the first 200 pages it becomes…
