This first book in a new series was simply OK for me. It would have helped to get to know the protagonists better if there had been fewer story lines. Kristi & Abby Tabby

I have never read a novel in the "Private" series by Patterson. This short story made me curious to try more. Kristi & Abby Tabby

Comment gone. Repost Apr 26, 2012 Author(s) threw in four distinct detective stories together in this book: a framed murder, serial killer of a luxury hotel chain, a violent pharmaceutical hoist and death of young girls associated with a…

Man I flew through this book - made the mistake of picking it up late and night, was up past 2am. A real page turner. This was my first Patterson novel, it won't be my last! I could have done without the soft-core porn (example: we kissed,…

Enjoyed reading about a new enterprise of the Private security group and learning about South Africa a little bit.

This was a great book! If you want to read more of this authors books, you can start this series! Worthy of Patterson's readers! 5 stars!

Since this is the first book in the Private series it mostly focuses on the characters while Private solves 3 cases. It's a good read, I just wish that instead of following three cases and quickly solving them at the end, that they would…

This is the first in this series by the "Patterson Book Factory ", and I enjoyed it enough to want to read the second in the series at some point. The development of the various characters, and their relationships with one another is as…

A strong 4.5, rounded up to 5. Really a top-notch effort by Patterson and his co-author Maxine Paetro. (She also co-wrote many of the Women's Murder Club books, which I also really enjoyed.) I really have a hard time coming up with…

CSI-flavored weak plot with lots of almost-recognizable names that make it fun enough to read until the end. Nothing wrong with bubblegum if it weren't for the very weak and extremely predictable plot

I've now read two in this series and I think I'm finished with it. Although the novels contain some interesting premises, I can't quite care about the staff of Private or their various life issues. And there often ends up being very little…

Great romp with fast paced nonstop action typical of James Patterson.

Really liked this book. Not the usual Patterson fare, but interesting enough. I am in a beautiful rut with Alex Cross, I'm afraid!

I liked the books that Patterson and Paetro did in the Women's Murder Club series and this series about P.I. Jack Morgan is pretty good also. The story is about the murdered, former lover and employee of Jack's, who turns up dead on his…

I have read almost all of James Patterson's books and also books he has written with Maxine Paetro (the women's murder club series). This was the most shallow, predictable book I've ever read. Quite boring actually.

This novel was lame and predictable, and the characters were odd, but in a forced, cutesy way. I thought I liked James Patterson's books in the past, but I must have been wrong. I think this story might have appealed to me if I were a…

Ah...another "mystery" where everyone is rich & beautiful. You'll figure out the murderer's identity by about chapter 3.
