Even better than the first season, the season ends very intensely, and the familial bonds are sorely tested. Incredibly exciting to watch, and one of my favourite shows, ever.

The costumes, wow. This is my 3rd watch, and I still love to cheer along as my (un)favourite characters get gruesomely murdered! Intelligently written, so very quotable. The characters really get to develop and change as events unfold, which is great, and Mikkeletto in particular is more confusing than the entire cast of MadMen, what on earth makes that guy tick? If you enjoyed The Tudors, you might like The Borgias even more.

Entertaining, if over the top. The weak script is saved only by the interesting characters and the ability of the actors.

Sumptuous-looking production that inevitably takes some liberties with history, but most of what you see actually happened in some shape or form, though sometimes at a slightly different time and in another context. Francois Arnaud is adequate as Cesare Borgia though he looks really funny when wearing cardinal's robes--like a child playing dress-up. Jeremy Irons as Rodrigo Borgia/Alexander VI is great--the glue that holds it all together.
