This novel takes readers back to the beginning of Lucky Santagelo's life as she recovers from her mother's brutal murder and how she became a wild child as well as blackmail. READ THIS BOOK!!!!!
This is BACKGROUND for the usual character so it does read a bit like teenlit. Nevertheles it is a fast read and provides some interesting insight into the charachter of Lucky, whose stories are more geared to adult escape literature. Poor little rich girl, not as bad a girl as some of her friends but bad enought to make the readers laugh and cheer her on. You know it is fictions because she is still a virgin when she walks down the isle.
great book for a total escape
Have to say I was anxiously awaiting the release of this book and was extremely disappointed. It seems that Collins felt she had to write another "Lucky Santangelo" story and decided to fill in the gaps in her teenage years - 15 to 16. Honestly, I got enough info on this period in Lucky's life in the flashbacks from previous stories that this seemed like fluff. I guess I would rather Collins took the point of view of Lucky's daughter (a new topic) rather than going back and adding filler to an area the had already been touched on. The good thing--very easy read that took a day to finish the story. Only 3 of 10 for me on this one.
I thought this book was for adults, but it's more of a teenager's mind set. I usually like Jackie Collin's books but unfortunately, not this one.
Extremely light read.....almost wish I'd skipped it...then she leaves the ending hanging....NOT HAPPY!
