In an attempt to heal from the deterioration caused by the pressures of sudden fame and too much alcohol, famous Beat author Jack Kerouac escapes to an isolated, mist-shrouded cabin in the primitive landscape of the Big Sur woods. Instead of finding the peace he desires, he is foiled once again by his own inner demons and sets off on a visceral collision course of paranoia, sex, delirium tremens, misery and madness.

What a bummer. The actors seemingly did a good job of visually representing their characters. "Kill your heroes"? Yeah, sure; but I'd rather reread the book. Problem is, now I'll have the memory of this debacle as a focus and lose the joy of it.... And is this a true image of the actual people? If so - so what? Leave my imagination alone. Viewer beware.

Depressing, dark movie! Not much saving grace there! Some characters were good. As a whole, though, not that good.

A drunken' mish mash. Lots of storm n' drang,..but not much elucidation of creativity. Boozy partying doesn't seem as 'beat' or unconventional as it used to !
