Bang isn't afraid to deal with tough teen issues. I am really surprised by how many important issues are brought to life in this story and they are all done well. Gun safety, teen suicide and happiness all play a big part in this story. The writing was very personal and descriptive. This book made me stop and think about how I would deal with these issues if I were in the character's place. It also enabled me to relate to the important adults in each teenager's life. This book is for teens because of the big role that this age group plays in the book. The author obviously wanted teens to connect personally to the characters and the excellent writing makes that possible. I give this book 5 stars. It was emotional and tragic, but had some beauty to it as well. I'd definitely recommend this book. @Bluemlk of the Hamilton Public Library’s Teen Review Board

This books deals with topics that are not often talked about, but exist. Beautifully written.

A compassionate story about the repercussions of an accidental shooting that still affects a family ten years later.

A dark book - but it should be shared with teens grappling with guilt and depression. The book also addresses cultural, wealth issues.
