Add a CommentGreat read by Michael Connelly. I always picture Matthew Mcconaughey as I am reading as he was in The Lincoln Lawyer movie. The lawyer talk is a bit tricky to understand for the layman. I enjoyed the book nontheless. My first time reading an eBook from the Cloud Library.
As always, Michael Connelly never disappoints me. I have read all his books. I couldn't put down this book when I started reading it and finished it literally in 1 1/2 day. Look forward to the next one.
Michael Connelly's books are always page turners, and this one is no exception. While I prefer Connelly's Bosch series, this Lincoln Lawyer entry featuring criminal defense attorney Mickey Haller being charged and taken to trial for murder of a former sleazeball client is a good read, and Bosch makes a cameo appearance as part of Haller's team looking for evidence to clear him. Recommended for fans of legal thrillers.
Great story. Can't wait until Connelly pins his next.
Wow! What a ride. A true winner of a novel! The court dialogues are so interesting and so sharp. Compelling story line. Love the character Mickey Haller; he is always thinking head.. . Felt like I just watched a fantastic movie. Once you start reading the book, the story just reels you right in and you can’t stop until the end. Highly recommended!
Another fantastic novel in the Mickey Haller series - AKA The Lincoln Lawyer!
Love all the Mickey Haller books and wish he'd write more of them. Extremely entertaining but had an end I did not expect. Always know he will live to try another case.
Michael Connelly's LAW OF INNOCENCE is one of his best yet. WARNING - extremely hard to put down. The story line is engaging and well crafted - Mickey Haller is now the defendant. That's it for spoilers for me. The characters are engaging and it's fun to see Harry Bosch appear in the novel as an investigator for Haller's legal team. Enjoy. PS - this is the first novel I have seen which actually brings up COVID-19. It is placed at the beginning of the pandemic and by the time Haller's trial is over, it is finally being recognized for the dangerous pandemic it is.
I know for a fact that everyone’s opinion regarding this book is going to be different than mine. In spots the book did drag or seem like someone else was writing. I’ll say this that I enjoyed the book and love the twist at the end. So I guess we know of what direction his next book will be headed in. I thought the book was good. Much better than watching reruns on the tv.
This novel was a disappointment and am wondering if there was a ghost writer because it didn't follow the usual writing of Connelly. The story seemed to drag in many places and Connelly's are normally page-turners. Also, the political preferences and digs did not add anything of substance to the storyline. Am hoping his next novel will run more true to form.
