It's about time! Robin Hood's band of merry men is infiltrated by a girl. Known as (Will) Scarlet - this character is a kick-butt fighter and an even better thief. Full of fast-paced action and adventure, Scarlet's story takes place under the thumb of an evil sheriff. Full of self-doubt and battling an eating disorder, Scarlet must also come to terms with her feelings for both Little John and Robin Hood. I loved this book. The only thing I didn’t like was how Robin treated Scarlet at the end. It is not cool to have him verbally abuse her and portray that as o.k. because he loves her. She should have kicked HIS butt. Read-a-likes: Michael Cadnum’s The Book of the Lion, and Karen Cushman’s Catherine, Called Birdy. SA
