The director of this movie does a very good job of making the viewer uncomfortable with the content of this movie, which is exactly what we should feel in viewing this semi-historical story about white African and European ingrained racism of the early 19th century, and man's cruelty to one another. The viewer is left with painful empathy for Saartjie (Sarah) Baartman, a Khoikhol (Hottentot) tribeswoman brought to Europe as a showpiece, and profit maker for her white South African "owner". While sometimes difficult to watch, this movie challenges our cultural stereotypes about what is true dignity and self-awareness. A *must-see*.
