I've always loved this band.... many of my friends have played in the various line-ups that preceded this record. However, as much as I appreciate Jack Irons' playing, the record just sounds too unlike any of their previous releases for me to easily accept it as a Wallflowers record. It's extremely "busy" and loaded with danceable rhythms... and that's simply not The Wallflowers I know and love. I thought Fred Effringham's playing (Gigolo Aunts, Dixie Chicks among others) on the Days of Wonder cd was a much better fit. Jack's work with Joe Strummer, The RHCPs, Pearl Jam, and even Eleven was a better "fit" for him. Some really good songs here, but I just don't get it. Disappointed.
