This moving story is narrated by a Greek chorus of gay men who died of AIDS a generation ago and who attempt to speak to the multiple gay characters to warn, admonish and celebrate them as they try to comprehend their lives and their place in the world. Craig and Harry, ex-boyfriends, are at the center of the story as they attempt to set a world’s record for the longest kiss. Through social media and word of mouth, their kiss is soon heard around the community and world and we get a look at other gay couples and individuals at different stages in their lives and their relationships as they react to or are affected by “the kiss”. In this audio version, the author reads his own work with emotion and explains his source of ideas for the book. He introduces us to many kinds of love-that of friends, family and gay lovers. It was a unique way of thinking about so many different kinds of relationships and how much things have changed in the last 20 years, but how far we still have to go.
