As my first book by this well-known author, it definitely deserved the few tears I almost shed for it. A deeply moving story about a man named Russell Green twisted its way into my heartstrings and really shifted my idea on relationships. Personally, I had strongly disliked Vivian from the start of the book, where even there she was nothing less of perfect. The author was somehow able to convey negativity in the background of her character, who ended up doing the many things she did. I was stunned by Russell's character development across the book from a meek/hesitant guy to a strong/independent father. But most of all, London is just an amazing little girl who I adored, like any other reader. - @Siri of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library
