I wanted to like it more. The story has all the ingredients of a great mystery novel. Everyone is a suspect and in some way connected to the murder or possible murder of young town folk. However, I found the suppositions repetitive and I had a strong idea of the real murderer from early onset. Hoag's novel does have strong elements that relate to relationships between kids, kids and parents, husbands and wives and integrity of police officers. Decent read.
