Raising Freethinkers

a Practical Guide for Parenting Beyond Belief

It has ideas about how to raise smart, independent, and compassionate children that apply to all families no matter what they believe in.Many atheist books spend more time talking about what they don't believe in and why than what they do believe in. This book is the positive, empowering book I have been looking for. It recognizes that loss of the sense of community that people feel when they leave religion and offers practical ways to regain that community without succumbing to the comfort of lies and myths. The section on how to comfort kids after a death without pretending to believe in Heaven was actually very comforting to me and I took notes for when my future kids ask about death.
